Who needs a report?
The EICR involves a thorough testing of your electrical wiring and fuse board – technically called a ‘consumer unit’. It’s therefore ideal for anyone looking to buy a property to ensure that you don’t discover any nasty/expensive surprises after you complete.
As of 1st June 2020, It is now mandatory for Landlords in England to have electrical safety checks carried out in their properties. These checks are to be carried out at least every 5 years by a qualified and competent person.

How long does it take?
This will depend on the size and nature of your property, but typically (for a 2 bedroom house) it can take around half a day to fully test and inspect. Larger properties can take up a full day, but we can advise on timescales when you contact us.
